Happy St. Patricks Day (I think)

John Dunleavey... what the hell is this guy's problem? How do you take the New York City firefighters from the front of the line to the middle of the pack? These men and women risk their lives each and every day to keep the city safe.. they climb multi-story buildings through pillars of smoke, licked by flames to save young and old alike, yet they are not good enough to be recognized by the public that they serve. Normal protocol has the NYPD followed directly by the NYFD, and then the rest of the revelers. But this dip$hit decides to move them back because: a) 'they get too drunk' and b) they are angry about the length of time if took last year with the FD from New Orleans. OK, so let's think a little... they get too drunk on an Irish holiday known basically for everyone getting as tanked up as they can. Yeah, this makes a ton of friggin sense. Oh yeah, and damned those New Orleans firefighters and their banner because they didn't go through hell and back during Katrina. And finally, aren't these the same firefighters who went through a little thing called 9/11 just a few short years back? The same ones we all cried for as they marched, watched as they buried hundreds of their own 'brothers', watched as they scoured the devastation at grond zero? How the hell short-sighted are we as a nation?!?

OK, enough with the sermon...

Brackets... well, not too much to report here... Damn Duke... I thought they could make a run. Wisconsin gave me a BIG scare considering I have them in the final four for all of my sheets, and even winning on one of them. I'll update this more as the weekend rolls through and let you know how many points I'm behind, because with all certainty I will NOT be in the lead.

Ah, the real sport Wrestling...- updated brackets into the semifinals. There are about 10 NJ boys all vying for some spot on the All American podium.... But alas, only 2 in the finals - 133--Matt Valenti, Kittatiny, NJ - Penn Univ and 197--Kurt Backes, Neshanic Station-Blair Academy- Iowa State.

There was a good run from another couple of jersey boys... and one of them is a true freshmam at North Carolina State. Darrion Caldwell, 3 time NJ state champ from Rahway... his quarterfinal match was pretty awesome... boy he's full of funk!!! Don't blink because you might miss something. Unfortunately, it did not end the way I would have liked. The other NJ guy in that part of the bracket, unseeded Don Fisch, Delsea HS - Rider University, made a good run as well and will end up All-American status. Will update brackets and give you a full NJ wrestler breakdown.

Well, starting to get a little late and I think I may need to get some sleep. I have some serious eating and drinking to do tomorrow and need my energy.

Enjoy this little bit. I know it may be a little out of season, but this is one of those funny posts I spoke about earlier...

I do have another item I would like to share that makes me laugh my a$$ off each time I look at it but I have to figure out how to post it and it's too damned late to get involved in that right now.

So, for now..... adieu.

Scott
