'Well' baby....

News just keeps coming in every couple of days or so. We just received more information from Holt about little, well, let me rephrase, young Cooper.

We have a well baby report for Cooper from March 13.

As far as his vitals:

Weight = 8.3 kg, or approx 18 1/4 # -- <75 percentile

height = 68.4", or approx 27 inches -- <75 percentile

head circumference = 42.3" --< 50 percentile

General appearance - "cute and fine". Mongolian spots and cafe au lait spots on both thighs and right flank.

Good nutrition - well at 140 ml every 3 hours I would say SO!!!!

Anterior fontanels are open, chest is clear, heart is regular without murmur. Abdomen is soft, extremity and neuroligical is normal.

and... genitalia is normal, male and bilaterally descended... WHEW!!!!

Cooper can now lift his head 'high' and push up on his arms while lying on his stomach. He bears good weight on his legs, rolls over, and is trying to creep/ crawl.

Motor skills: follow/ track 180 degrees, suck hands, hold hands together, reaches and grabs large objects. He regards a face, smiles spontaneously and responsively, and regards his own hands. Cooper can respond to a bell, rattle, and voice and coos and laughs.

Overall, he is progressing at >5-6 month level.

I don't know about you reading this, but it certainly makes me want to jump on the next flight to Korea and go get this little scamp. Susan called me in tears today after reading this and informed me that it was starting to hurt having to wait. I must say I had to agree and silently ached a little and had a lump in my throat myself. If I was not amongst a group of patients, I most likely would have shed a few tears as well.

OK... enough of the after school special drama. Just wanted to drop a little line to let you all know how things are coming along since we have drawn you all into our little web.

Please wish Susan well as she travels down to Baltimore this weekend to take part in her friend's bachelorette party, well... a day at the spa. Not too bad. Now don't you all go feeling bad for me because I get to watch the girls by myself for a day or so, and as far as everyone else knows they are complete angels!!! Oh, maybe we'll bake some brownies and do each others' hair and nails... or something just as fun.... that could very well rock!!

And of course we all prepare for the Easter Feast at dear Uncle Henry and Aunt Carol's lovely Victorian house. Word on the street (well, actually straight from Aunt Carol herself) is that we are at least doubling the amount of fresh kielbasa so everyone is not crowding around the grill waiting for the next piece of piping hot sausage to disembark the coals. And maybe those poor, unfortunate souls who show up a little later than us early birds have a fighting chance at getting some of the kielbasa before it is inhaled into the vacuous void called the Sattan boys. Hope to see many of you there.

Finally, and I am sure Murphy, with his damned laws, will be smiling upon us as we get to the middle of the month. Susan gets to escort 300 + senior students to Disney World the third weekend in April. We are placing bets as to which day during this little excursion she is on that we hear from Holt and have to get our reservations together in a matter of days.

We are positive that there is no way we could be so lucky as to get through all of our commitments in the month of April before we get the call. And you know what, that is fine with me because IT'S TIME.

Annyeonghi kaseyo...

Excellent news, maybe you'll have to make the trip on your birthday. You'll have to tell me what your sign off means, I am making a brave assumption that it is Korean. At least we should be here for the arrival.
