OK, I know.. REALLY poor attempt at humor, but I could not pass it up.
SO, for all of you who may be interested.. Yes we are exactly where the fires were raging the past few days. We were evacuated twice in 2 days. Boy, you don't realize what you hold sacred and what you think to save if forced into that situation. So, needless to say my truck is a filing cabinet of insurance papers, certificates, Cooper's paperwork, etc., etc.... and pictures as well.
Of course, I am walking around smelling like an extinguished BBQ pit.. you know that smell of wet, soggy charcoal... the campfire after the morning dew collects on it... I know you all have that odor in your minds right now.
Anyway, we are back safely, and the girls, while visibly upset are OK. You try not to panic or get frustrated in front of them to keep them calm. And God bless our little Cooper the trooper. He was a little more antsy yesterday because of being transported round and round, but after all was said and done, he slept quite well in his own crib, in his own room last night.
So, now we just have to find out how mom made out because her house was much closer to the action. As a matter of fact, her development is the next one up the road from the Brighton section where there was confirmed house carnage. So please keep your fingers crossed and prayers that her place is safe.
OK, gotta go for now, but just wanted to drop a line to say we were all safe.
Thanks much.
Scott
