IT's a MIRACLE.......

He sleeps... he really sleeps!!!!

In his own bed, from dusk til dawn... mostly

It's been a long, hard road folks, but I think we've got it...

From summer 2007 when he was with us the entire night and waking up hourly, progressivly got WORSE over time if you could imagine.... then a little better, then worse than before, and kept going in a pattern like that.

After much discussion, we went to CHOP and saw a specialist. She and the team were nice enough and gave us a bunch of helpful behavioral advice and objectives... wish I could be as complimentary with the follow up care from them.

So we try..

And... and.... we started with some nighttime 'going to bed' training but still had him coming into bed when he woke after 2-3 hours. This took a few days to get the routine.

Finally after several weeks and a terrifyingly horrific episode of night terrors Susan had him cry it out in his own bed. It went a little rocky the first night or 2, but since then it has gone better and better. We even had 1-2 nights going 7:30 PM-6:30 AM uninterrupted.... yahoo!!!! The norm is still 1-2 quick wakings, but a pat on the back and reposition of the blankets resolves it in a minute or two.

OK... since the prince is asleep and the princesses, God bless their sweet souls, are in bed as is usual, I am going to take advantage and head to bed for a long night's sleep myself....
