Closer and closer....

Well, sorry it's been so long for updates, but things have been crazy around here. Of course it's been crazy, and it will continue to be crazy because that's how we roll!!!!

Before I begin, I just had to share this because when does this happen??? All sitting together peacefully sharing breakfast before the craziness of the day begins.. {I might have posted this before, but I can't remember and don't feel like scrolling down to past entries, so deal with it...}

Anyway, I will try to run through some updates as best as I can.

First, and without showing any preference other than this is what's taking up most of our time and energy, we have more information on Tae Michael. Since Cooper came home with us 2 years ago, the process for adoption has changed and includes more steps, each with their own little nickname and we are still trying to get a handle on it. But I will try to steer through the mess.... The timeline following acceptance/ approval and legal paperwork has been as follows: I600A approval (approving us as parents), I600 approval (approving Tae's entry into this country) - very recent, logging in 6/9/09 and logging out 6/11/09 of the National Visa Center in the US. This means that our government has approved us to bring Tae into this country and they have sent this information to the embassy in Seoul. All the while, in Korea Tae has received his EP (emigration permit) which is what gives him permission to leave Korea. So the next few steps are also the last few steps before we hop on the big bird to head over to Korea. Now that Korea has US approval and Tae's emigration approval, they send the whole packet to our agency in Korea who processes it, sets up Tae's travel physical and his visa interview which will give him the final travel visa. Once that happens, it's usually a few days until we get the call to travel. So what does all that mean?? Probably 4-6 weeks and we go. So all those summer plans and parties following mid July will be attended by 6, and not 5 Sattans.

OK, explanations out of the way, how about a few pictures:

So to move along....

This week was a sad one as we said good bye to Kelly, our exchange student from China. She left very early Wednesday morning (that's a story in itself - all I'll say is be wary of good limo deals found through web searches). After a transfer in Phoenix, and getting on her plane to China, we got word Friday that she was home and doing well with her family. Everyone around here, particularly the girls, were very upset and Tuesday night was filled with tears.

And Kira was our little graduate of the week. Susan and I could not be more proud. And so is she holding on to that diploma tightly. And the music show to go along with it was fun as well.

And our beloved Olivia received a Citizenship Award from school She was nominated by her teacher for what they classify as 'making her class, school, and community a better place to live including attention to proper treatment of her classmates, maintaining a clean environment, and making good choices during the day'. She was so proud of her achievement, as she should be. (sorry about the quality of these photos because I was also trying to take video and was at the back of a very full room).

And Cooper... well, he is Cooper.

... and his craziness...

OK.. that should keep you busy for a little while.

Check in periodically, because I am thinking the next big bunch of posts will revolve around really good news and travel pictures.
