Happy Grandparent's Day
Time to celebrate the wonder of Grandparents at Olivia's school this week. Mimi and PopPop had a chance to get there to share some good times with Olivia and her classmates.
The whole class got together to have some fun with their Grandparents, or 'special relatives' as they were referred to in the memo.
Anyway, Olivia was looking very pretty for the day and was quite happy to have her Mimi and PopPop come in to see her. They had a nice conversation with her teacher, Miss VanSciver, about how well she was doing in school. Olivia and Mimi talked all about what goes on doing her day in school. All was well and in the end a nice day was had by all.
... and now for something completely different.....
It's Saturday morning and the young'uns have spent the night at Mimi and PopPop's house getting prepared for when Susan and I go to Korea. Anyway, since it is quiet and we are not forced into the constant loop of Barney and Sesame Street, Susan and I are watching RetroMoviePlex... Airport 75. What a horrificly hysterical movie. If you have ever seen Airplane!, you just cannot go back and watch Airport with a straight face. The complete lampooning of the original movie (along with Airport, Airport 77, Airport 79 - Concorde) is just absolutely fabulous. And to watch Charlton Heston bring Moses, Planet of the Apes, and Soylent Green-type drama to this hokey role is priceless. It is fun to watch and see the multitude of stars who did cameos, or full roles in these films and wonder what the hell they were thinking. Anyway, it makes for good, mindless entertainment.
Oh well, I suppose I will get back to the movie now... the plot is thickening... I can tell this because the music is getting very dramatic and George Kennedy is flashing us his best "Breath Assure' smile. "There is nothing to be alarmed about....."
Until next time....
